The Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access, or WiMax, is a “telecommunications technology aimed at providing wireless data over long distances in a variety of ways, from point-to-point links to full mobile, cellular-type access.” And, as seen above, WiMAX 360 is the social network for professionals working within the WiMAX and telecommunications industry.

If you’re looking to see how WiMAX works, check out this diagram with a summary commented by member Pratyush Sinha. You can also compare WiMAX with other broadband wireless technologies. This is a great use of photos to present information and material to learn from, in addition to cool antennae shots.

Similarly, the videos tab is chock full of knowledge. From demonstrations to installations, members of the WiMAX 360 network share their know-how.

If you’re still wondering, “Self, how do I work with maintaining DL synchronization and maintaining UL parameters?” No longer must you wonder alone, for the WiMAX 360 forum has got you covered! Categories range from WiMAX Mythbusters to WiMAX Employment.

WiMAX 360 is already 2,850 members strong. If you’re a technician, engineer, researcher or consultant in WiMAX technologies, get involved in WiMAX 360!
