The Localist ProjectNing Network Spotlight
The Localist Project is all about putting a personal touch on recommendations for writers, designers, hair stylists, chefs, restaurants or any local service, shop or freelancer. Their goal isn’t to replace Yelp or Craigslist, but to create a place where members can get an in-depth sense of “what’s good” in their city or region.
Thanks to the blog, forum, photos, videos and groups features that are built in to the Ning platform, The Localist Project social network is the Project’s sole web presence. It’s a perfect fit, as members can share their favorite Southern California toy stores in their blog, discuss the search for good denim on the forum or show off design work with photos.
