The National Theatre Wales Community is a social network for patrons and fans of the theater company. While the company is developing its full line of programming, the social network serves as a hub for all things National Theatre Wales. The blogs section is a great resource to learn more about the company, everything from how they developed a visual identity to details from the launch party.

In a text box on the top left, the National Theatre Wales Community has a welcome center set up with a link to two great Pages: Why Sign Up and the Getting Started guide. Adding content like this helps newcomers and prospective members get acquainted with what your social network is all about.

We’ve written in the past about the case for simplicity on a social network, and it’s easy to see this idea in action on National Theatre Wales community. This social network has chosen to use only two colors, green and black, and a single font, Courier. The National Theatre Wales Community is also a great example of the power of CSS, as they’ve used custom CSS to further customize their social network’s tabs and build them directly in to the header.
