The Ghetto Gourmet

Started in an Oakland basement apartment in 2004, The Ghetto Gourmet has become a nation-wide phenomenon for adventurous foodies. Groups based in DC, New York, and Denver are always planning out the next dinner party and sharing local secrets. Guerrilla gourmet has made its way outside the US as well — one member links to a food club based in Frankfurt, Germany.

Members share their own independent food experiences with blog posts. Jo shares the menu for her Miracle Fruit Dinner. She put together a astronomy-themed menu, perfect for the location of the supper speakeasy — the Rauch Planetarium in Louisville.
