Making a difference in India, one child at a timeNing Network Spotlight
Ramkrishna Vivekananda Mission in West Bengal, India, was founded in 1977 and is dedicated to the welfare of the poor in India. One of their projects is in Suryapur and provides care and support for visually and hearing impaired girls. Their Ning Network allows members to sponsor projects at the mission and then gives the sponsor members an easy place to look for updates on mission projects.
One of the ways members can get involved is to sponsor individual girls who live at the Suryapur mission. In the Forum section, members can get updates on the successes of the girls they sponsor in addition to learning about ongoing and completed projects. For example, this post allows Janice, a sponsor to learn more about Soma Ghosh, a 15 year old student she’s recently connected with. Information about volunteer and sponsorship opportunities are also provided. To get involved with the project or sponsor a student, check out the Get Involved section.
