Tonight’s release is live!

In the spirit of making features easier to use and rapidly fixing long-standing idiosyncrasies, we’ve rolled out various improvements to your Ning Network with tonight’s release. As we talked about here and here, this release includes an update to the default My Page layout and a new option for exporting the attendees of your event.

Here’s some more good stuff packaged into tonight’s release:

  • Your RSS feed for blog posts will now display the published date instead of the created date. This means the date of the post on your Ning Network will match up with the RSS feed.
  • Your RSS feed for photos will now display the photos themselves, rather than linking to them.

    Hi Monika,

    Is it possible you’ve accidentally blocked images on your Firefox browser? If so, google “unblock images Firefox” and follow along with the instructions for your operating system.

    That should do the trick!

    i can’t see any photos on my ning site. my students see all the photos fine. could i have changed some viewing restriction on mine only? please help…
    i wrote the ning help blog twice with no response. sorry to be using this venue.

    Hey! Thats awesome, just wondering if you guys are planning to put the date of events in the events rss feed? Several sites would like to import our events rss feed but find it useless without a date in the title.. digg does this well with their rss feed.. it could be like [Nov 3] Mikes Party

      This only affects the default profile page layout. That might be why it doesn’t seem like it’s changed. Will you confirm that piece of information for us?

    we are having trouble with creating groups, specifically uploading a picture. That box is gone and yesterday it still worked. What should we do?

    I’m seeing the same issues as eCoronado reports above. The functionality to format text or add images/files is no longer visible when trying to post new blogs.

    I just tested this out on my own netwoek and it looks like blogs and events can be italicized at as expected. If this is different than what you see on your own Ning Network, shoot us a note in the Ning Help Center and we can take a look!
