This page is the place to dig in and find feature information when you know what you’re looking for \u2014 in a big alphabetical list. <\/em><\/p>\n

You’ll find most of these features on your Features Layout, and you can drag and drop feature modules<\/em> around to the location you’d like each to appear on your Main Page. We’ve also included a number of other features that don’t live in a module on your Main Page but that work in conjunction with your entire Ning Network (e.g., the Language Editor).<\/p>\n

Feature<\/th>\nWhat it’s all about<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n
Activity Feed<\/a><\/td>\nThe big, up-to-the minute stream of latest activity across your network that’s located on the Main Page.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Badges<\/a><\/td>\nYou and members of your social network can embed badges across the Internet promoting your social network. Also includes media players that show off your site’s music, videos and photos.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Birthdays<\/a><\/td>\nShowcase member birthdays so members can be congratulated on another great year. A great driver of activity.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Blog<\/a><\/td>\nBlog posts are one way you and your members can express what’s on your mind. A soap-box staple of any social network.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Chat<\/a><\/td>\nEveryone can participate in a live site-wide chat or private one-on-one chats with other members. Chat is always in the footer, but you can also put it on its own page. Or, put it directly on your Main Page.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Events<\/a><\/td>\nOrganize events, either in the virtual or real world. Whether or not you meet up in real life is up to you!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
File manager<\/a><\/td>\nA way for you to upload and organize files that are most important to your site. Also a great feature to use to make a “splash” intro page for your network.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Forum<\/a><\/td>\nThe place for conversation. This is often the focal point of social networks. Your site has a main forum, but you can also have group forums.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Gifts<\/a><\/td>\nAn optional feature that lets your members reward each other with pre-made or custom-made gifts. Not for every network, but great for some.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Groups<\/a><\/td>\nYour members can organize themselves into groups, where they can meet new friends and discuss group-specific topics in group forums.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Invitations<\/a><\/td>\nYou can invite people via email, or invite people from popular social networking sites.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Language Editor<\/a><\/td>\nDon’t like the naming of things on your site? You can change nearly everything that appears in your site’s interface in the Language Editor.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Leaderboards<\/a><\/td>\nHighlight your network’s top members or content. The top photos, blog posts, videos, discussions or events can be displayed.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Messages<\/a><\/td>\nEverything related to your members’ private inbox, as well as their public messaging capabilities.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Music<\/a><\/td>\nYou and the members of your network can upload songs. Express yourself!<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Ning Apps<\/a><\/td>\nThird-party applications that you can put on your network. Some of these also allow members to add features and functionality to their profile pages.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Mobile Version<\/a><\/td>\nYour Ning site comes with its own mobile version that’s tailor-made for mobile devices. You can choose which pages show up.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Notes<\/a><\/td>\nThe wiki-like Notes feature lets you and your administrators add pages of important information to your network.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Pages<\/a><\/td>\nA way for you to add a custom HTML page of nearly any type of content you want.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Paid Access<\/a><\/td>\nThis optional add-on lets you charge members for access to your site, a special group or a single page.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Photos<\/a><\/td>\nEncourage your network to upload photos and images with this feature. You can control how many photos members can upload, and photos have different privacy options.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
RSS<\/a><\/td>\nAdd external RSS feeds to your network’s Main Page to pull in all kinds of external content.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Social Sign-In<\/a><\/td>\nLet your members sign up and sign in with services like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google, Yahoo, and Windows Live.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Text Box<\/a><\/td>\nAdd anything you want to a Text Box on your Main Page \u2014 from text to images to third-party widgets.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
