Categorizing your members is easy. To get started, go to your My Network tab and click on the “Management” link under the Members section. You’ll see a “Member Categories” tab between your “Members” and “Administrative Roles” tabs. All of your members will be listed initially in the default “Member” category. This can’t be edited or\u00a0deleted.<\/p>\n

To create a new category, click on the “Add Category” link. That will take you to this page.<\/p>\n

Here, you will be\u00a0prompted to\u00a0enter a Category Name. You will also be given the option to add a submenu item for your new category on the Members page. A submenu item is a link that appears on your Members page between the existing “All Members” and “My Friends” lists, and gives members the option of viewing just those members who belong to a particular category. You can\u00a0add up to\u00a010 member categories as submenu items on the Members page.<\/p>\n

The badge can be either text- or image-based. If you choose to add a text badge, you can adjust the color\u00a0opacity of the overlaid text. Text badges will be based on the category name, and can be placed across the top or the bottom of a member’s profile photo.<\/p>\n

If you choose to make the badge display as an image, you\u00a0won’t\u00a0get opacity controls but you will have control over image placement.\u00a0You can also upload up to 50 of your own custom badges. In order to have\u00a0them display properly, we recommend the images be 96 x 96 pixels.<\/p>\n

When you are done creating your category and badge, click “Save”. You can then start adding members to this category in your Members tab in the Members Management page.<\/p>\n

If you have created a submenu item for your category, you’ll see that show up in your Members page.<\/p>\n

You can create up to 50 member categories.<\/p>\n

You can also use the Member Categories feature to automatically place subscribers for your Group, Page, or Network paywall into custom-made categories. Using this feature can help you to encourage your members to sign up for special membership designations and badges. To learn more\u00a0click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you should want to delete a member category at any point or simply find you’ve run out of categories, just go to My Network > Members > Management and click on the “Member Categories” tab.\u00a0Click on\u00a0the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153X\u00e2\u20ac\u009d associated with the member category you would like to delete, and you’re set!\u00a0Once a member category is deleted, all members listed in that category will revert back to the default “Member” category.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
