1. After signing in to you should be taken to your My Accounts home page. Click the link of the domain you’d like to have point to your Ning Network.

2. Scroll down the page to the “Advanced Technical Settings.” Locate the first entry in the list “A,” and click the “Edit IP Address Records” link.

3 In the top left field enter “@” in place of “*.” In the top right field next to “points to,” enter Ning’s IP address: The rows and fields below should be left blank. From there, click the Continue button. On the next page, click Continue again to apply the changes.

4. You should then be taken back to the previous Account page for your domain. There is one more setting that needs to be changed. Again, scroll down the page to the “Advanced Technical Settings.” Locate the third entry in the list “CNAME,” and click the “Edit Domain Aliases Records” link.

5. In the top left field, enter “www.” Then, next to “points to,” enter the sub-domain of your Ning network without the “http://” (for example “”). From there, click the “Continue” button. On the next page, review your settings for pointing “” to “,” and click the “Continue” button again.

That’s it! You’re all done with setting up your custom domain so that it points to your domain.  The last part is to add it to your network directly.  To do that, go to your network and follow these steps to apply and display your custom domain in the address bar.

Please Note: Your changes may take up to 48 hours to appear.
