For example, if you want to change \u201cfriends\u201d to \u201ccontacts\u201d across your network, or if you want to change \u201cphotos\u201d to \u201cpictures,\u201d then the Language Editor lets you do that! You can also edit the default translations of one of our six currently supported languages:<\/p>\n<div class=\"list_check\">\n<ul>\n<li>English (U.S.)<\/li>\n<li>Spanish (Latin America)<\/li>\n<li>Portuguese (Brasil)<\/li>\n<li>German<\/li>\n<li>Italian<\/li>\n<li>French<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>To find the Language Editor on your Ning Network, go to &#8220;Language Editor&#8221; section of your Social Site Manager. From there, you can make these changes:<\/p>\n<p>1. Edit the Language on your Network<br \/>\n2. Create a New Translation<br \/>\n3. Import\/Export<br \/>\n4. Edit the Welcome Email<\/p>\n<p><strong>Edit the Language on Your Network:\u00a0<\/strong>To edit any of the languages on your network, click the \u201cChange Active Language\u201d link from the &#8220;Language Editor&#8221; page. Alternatively, you can change the active language by heading to your &#8220;General Settings&#8221; page from the Social Site Manager.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2995\" alt=\"chang-act-lang-prepped\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ning.com\/ning3help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/chang-act-lang-prepped-585x394.jpg\" width=\"585\" height=\"394\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This editing page shows the existing text for an item on the left. To change that text, simply type in your replacement text on the right. Enter your changes one page at a time, then click the \u201cSave Page\u201d button to save them.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2965\" alt=\"video-jck4\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ning.com\/ning3help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/video-jck4-585x379.jpg\" width=\"585\" height=\"379\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You can also use the pulldown filter to show any fields that you\u2019ve left blank or changed from the original text. Items will appear red for missing text and green for text you\u2019ve changed. To change everything on your network, there are about\u00a030 pages to work through. You can work at your own pace and change items as you have spare time, or you can use the search field here to find specific items you\u2019d like to change.<\/p>\n<div class=\"box box_pink note_box\"> Custom text you add to your network\u2019s translation will not appear on your Dashboard and other administration panels. <\/div>\n<p>If you make edits to a language and would like to reset the text back to its defaults, you can do so by selecting \u201cReset Text to Original Version.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2994\" alt=\"reset-txt-prepped\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ning.com\/ning3help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/reset-txt-prepped-585x574.jpg\" width=\"585\" height=\"574\" \/><\/p>\n<p><b>Create a New Translation:\u00a0<\/b>To add your own language translation, choose \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ning.com\/ning3help\/create-a-new-translation\/\">Create a new translation for your Ning Network<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2993\" alt=\"creat-transl-prepped\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ning.com\/ning3help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/creat-transl-prepped-585x394.jpg\" width=\"585\" height=\"394\" \/><\/p>\n<p>There, you can start from scratch and create a new translation for your Ning Network. Do this by entering a name for the new language, then picking an existing language as a reference point.<\/p>\n<p><b>Import\/Export:\u00a0<\/b>You can<b>\u00a0<\/b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ning.com\/ning3help\/import-or-export-a-translation-file\/\">Import\/Export a language file<\/a>\u00a0using the Language Editor.\u00a0If you\u2019ve created a new translation on another Ning Network, you can import your work here.
