In order to join your Ning Network or apply for membership, individuals must meet a minimum age. All members joining must be at least 13 per our Terms of Service, so the default the minimum age to join your Ning Network is 13. However, you can increase the minimum age requirement.
To update the minimum age, head to the My Network tab and click the “Controls” link in the Members area. Below “Member Age” you’ll see a drop-down menu to update the minimum age requirement to anything between 13 and 100. Updating the minimum age requirement will also update the language in your Ning Network’s Terms of Service.
In order to join or apply for membership, a new member’s age must meet the minimum age you’ve set. If someone tries to join and but does not meet your age requirement, they’ll see the following error message: “Based on the information you have provided, you are ineligible to register for a new account.”
By default, new members are required to provide their birthday when joining your Ning Network. If you’d rather not require birthday information, next to “Ask new members to provide their actual birthday?” select “No. Whether or not you require mew members to provide their birthday, the minimum age you’ve selected will appear in your Ning Network’s Terms of Service.
