Invite People to your Groups

Every group needs members.  To invite people to your group, click on the “Group Options” button from the group’s detail page.  Select “Invite” from the drop-down menu.

This will take you to an invitation page.  From here, you can enter email addresses of people you’d like to invite to the group, or you can enter the names of friends on the network.  Entering a friend’s name will cause a group invitation to be sent to the member who matches that name.

As a Network Creator or administrator, you have access to the network’s Members page in the Member Management panel in the dashboard, listing network members’ email addresses.  If you are unsure of a member’s exact name or address on the network, head here (via the member icon, found in the green administrative toolbar) to find the email address of the member you want to invite to the group.

You can manually add members to a group from this page.  Just check the box next to a member whom you’d like to add to a group.  Then select a particular group from the “Select An Action” drop-down menu in the “Add to a Group” section of that menu’s options.

You can even set up profile questions to automatically filter new members into a group based on their responses to profile questions.  The Profile Questions page is also found in the Member Management panel of your dashboard.  Just click on “Profile Questions” in the left column to get there.

If the question is multiple-choice, you’ll automatically see an option to assign members to a group based on their answers during the sign up process. You can integrate your members via their profile question responses with up to 100 groups on your network.

Please note that automatic filtering into a group by profile question responses will only occur during the actual sign up process. Selecting a profile question response later in the Profile Settings page will not automatically place someone into a group.

Inviting network members and non-members alike will result in both invitees being taken to the group page with an option to accept the group invitation.
