Howdy. I’m David Sklar and I’m an Architect here at Ning.

I spend my time figuring out ways to improve Your Own Social Network on Ning and the PHP environment in which it runs.

In the two and a half years I’ve been at Ning, we’ve built a ton of features into Your Own Social Network on Ning with a small team of incredible developers. Ning Photos + eBay REST API = Instant Embeddable Slideshows

This means that once you take your app premium (free) and sign up for “Run Your Own Ads” (free), you can get an Google Adsense account (free), or a Yahoo! Fix on the way for non-ASCII form content

Thanks to lupus63, we tracked down a lurking bug that messed up non-ASCII characters in form fields inside forms containing file-upload fields. Those of you that have cloned Anytown Listings and want to have item descriptions in Français, Русски, or another language using non-ASCII characters might have noticed this already. The fix will be deployed in our downtime tonight (actually tomorrow morning). Expect a post from Alexei in a bit on the exact timing.
